1. Eggs cost $1.06 per dozen. How much would 4 dozen cost?
2. The new McGuffey Reader costs 95 cents. If the store owner pays mother 10 cents a pound for her butter, how many pounds of butter will she need to pay for William's new book?
3. Jerry sold newspapers for 5 cents each. How much money did he take in if he sold 72 papers? If the paper company lets him keep only on half of that, how much does he get to keep? (do as two parts)
4. It was Lucy's job to gather eggs every day after school. On Monday, she found 13 in the hay loft, 7 in the cow stalls, and 22 in the granary. How many eggs did she find on Monday?
5. Mr. Jones raises horses on his ranch in Montana. He did not fix the holes in his fences. Five years ago, he ad 260 but 32 ran away when they found the holes in the fences. Then how many did he have?
He still did not fix the holes in his fences, so the next year 30 horses ran off. How many did he have then?
He decided that he better mend his fences but he did not get it all done and still had two holes in the fence. 6 horses got out. Now how many did he have?
Well, he got busy and fixed the entire fence. How many got out the next year?
