4th Grade Arithmetic

1. A rancher in Utah had 2005 sheep. He had a fence around his fields. Wolves were pretty bad that year and they dug under the fence and took 47 of the sheep. How many did he have left?

2. Fertilizer is $18 a sack. Farmer Brown needs 86 sacks. How much will this cost?

3. A family was getting their son ready for school. they bought a slate for 50 cents, slate pencils for 47 cents, McGuffey's Reader for 97 cents, a spelling book for $1.46, pencils for 10 cents, and a lunch pail for 75 cents. How much did all this cost?

4. Sam lives 40 miles east of Johnstown. His friend Tom lives 50 miles west of Johnstown. About how far do Sam and Tom live from each other?

5. Michael plays basketball for 2 hours each day and paddleball for 3 hours each day. If he plays every day, how many hours a week is this?

​6. Write the multiplication facts for 7's up to 12.
